Scarlet Homecare Sponsors Brain Injury SA Awareness Week

We are so excited to share that Scarlet Homecare are proud sponsors of Brain Injury SA’s Brain Injury Awareness Week event for 2024, Hope, Strength, Empowerment, with special keynote Speaker, Myra Fordham.

Myra is a proud Malgnin Gurindji and Wokka Wokka woman, an award-winning leadership expert, best-selling author, mentor and coach, and in 2023, Myra was named Darwin NAIDOC Person of the Year. She is also a brain injury survivor.

Acquiring her brain injury after an assault from her ex-boyfriend, Myra spent 11 days in a coma before undergoing brain surgery and intensive rehabilitation to learn to walk and speak again, and to overcome depression, anxiety and PTSD.

Myra’s keynote presentation at this event, on 19 August, will guide attendees on a journey of empowerment to believe in hope, and to find inner strength to embrace life after brain injury.

We are so pleased to be supporting this event that not only shines a light on the different lived experiences of brain injury, but to play our part in raising awareness of the prevalence of ABI and TBI – something that impacts more than 1 in 45 people.

Registration to attend this free community event online or in person can be made here.

We look forward to seeing you there and sharing this experience with you.
